Vicki has asked us again to post views from our front door; because she is rather nosy planning on stalking her readers the curious sort, she’s also asked us to include views from our back doors. She started the whole "Fun Monday" meme back in January when she wanted to see winter views; Spring should be a bit more colorful above the equator, where it’s actually Spring.
I tried to get the same view with my shots…let’s see how they turned out:
Front door, to the left~
Dead ahead ~
Looks like Callie wants a piece of the action.
Exactly what that "action" entails, I have no idea…
And to the right ~
Last time, I didn’t take views from the back door, so there’s nothing for comparison. We actually have three back doors–off the kitchen, off the den and off our sunroom–so I’m including a shot from each view (in that order).
Looks like Aussie is just as curious as Callie. We ALL know what that did to the cat!
Oh my gosh! Your place looks IDYLLIC! I want to curl up in one of your porch chairs and read a book while listening to the breeze in the trees.
Wow, how wonderful! And green, yay! I’m in love with your porch 🙂
Another porch with rockers, I’m getting serious envy here. The views around your home are really beautiful.
Much greener than before! Looks so nice and peaceful there. Interesting how your back porch is below ground. Do you have a daylight basement?
Your front porch looks a lot like mine. Its my favorite place in the house.
so green and pretty.
I’m with Gina on the rocker envy.
That backyard off your kitchen is perfect for dinners outside.
Ooooh, great pics! I’m just as “nosy” as Vicki because I love snooping at other peoples homes (etc).
Now talk about nosy. I tagged you on the Morning Face Challenge. Check it out on my blog.
You can hate me all you want for tagging you on the Morning Face… I hate you for your beautiful home, the view, and the veranda I’ve always wanted! Otherwise known as envy, that oh-so-godly characteristic. Just as bad as vanity, I guess!
Heather, for living in a neighborhood with lots of houses nearby, our little spot up the hill is a little haven. You’re welcome to snuggle up in one of the rockers, book in hand, anytime :).
Kila, the rockers are pretty new, and we’ve enjoyed them since the weather took a turn for the better. Now if that daggum pollen would stay away…!
Chris, thanks :). They’re actually very comfy!
Karmyn, no, we have no basement at all :(. The patio is HIGHER than the front yard–remember, we live at the top of a pretty steep hill; the backyard continues to climb until it levels behind our yard (behind the fence). Sooo, yes, the patio looks to be “below ground”, but it’s actually just on an incline.
Gina, I love it when all of us are on the front porch hanging out…it doesn’t happen very often, though :/.
Vicki, we don’t eat there enough–between the mosquitoes and the pollen, we can be chased indoors too easily. That being said, there’s something about it when we do. Hmmm, it’s a FANTASTIC day for that TODAY! Who cares if our backsides are dusted yellow???
Rachelle…I’ll get you my pretty! >:(
Rachelle…ummm, MAYBE I’m just kidding…maybe not ;).
I remember falling in love with your porch last time round. Your back garden looks pretty too.
Wow…it’s lovely! Too bad the mosquitos prevent many meals out there. I’ve got an aussie, too, but mine, sadly, isn’t a blue merle.
I love your winter/spring comparisons – very nifty!
What a wonderful porch. After I roll around on Karmyn’s grass, I’m going to come flop on your porch.
I love your porch and the rocking chairs… and all of your green, green grass.
Beccy, how S W E E T of you and thanks a gazillion!
Tracey, I can tell you have an Australian Shepherd. They’re the BEST dogs in the universe :)!
Tiggerlane, Hmmmm, that almost sounds pornographic…rollin’ around in the grass, floppin on the porch…people? ANYBODY??
Jill, I cannot take an iota of credit for the grass…I’m sleeping with the yard boy and he must think the pay is pretty doggone good ;). I’ll be sure to give him a bonus from all the nice comments HE’S receiving :).
Hey wait a minute…if yo’ve got three doors out the back and take a picture from each one, how come there’s four pictures? (all beautiful btw).
I know you did get some snow, but apart from the trees losing their foliage, it looks like you get off pretty light during winter.
YUMMY! Lovin’ this kind of stuff – just beautiful. I’m not in on this “fun monday” post , but I thought I’d show a little around our place too!
(well, it’s not up yet, I’m workin on it…**sigh** )!!
great idea to show the two seasons together.
I saved house plans from the newspaper for years… ALL of them with wrap around porches.
I threw them all away a year or two ago. I’ll never have one.
I’m enjoying yours from afar.
Dear robin. Your house looks beautiful. Can you adopt moi?
Wow!
How lovely…you must be enjoying living there…
WT, I was waiting for someone to mention that little detail…you always have a keen eye. The last two pics are out the sunroom door–the first looks back towards the patio (and kitchen door, just out of view), and the second looks to the right, towards our woods. Winters are relatively mild here, although a late frost killed anything that was flowering in our yard a few weeks ago (except for the rhododendron out front which hadn’t bloomed yet).
Kristy, you can jump in on FM ANYTIME, it’s open to all (well, anyone with a blog 😉 ). Can’t wait to see your views!
Pamela, …if you ever head south, you can enjoy it from up close and personal. Wouldn’t that be GREAT??!
Dear Little Miss Moi, :), Pamela visiting would be great, adopting you would be groovey! Rachel has always wanted a sister! 🙂
Hi Nadine…something like that …. 😉 🙂
May I have your front porch pretty please?
Wow. Wow. Wow.
When can I move in?
This looks a great deal like my in-laws place. Big porch, steep front yard, a bazillion trees. They live in Arkansas.
Living up here in the mostly frozen north, it will never be that green and lush.
These views are unreal. You live in an huge oasis. Your grass is so GREEN! And I love the brick patio. Did you and Tad build that? I’ve always liked railroad tie stairs too. Wow, what money can buy down in TN!!!
Up here in the PNW, we actually have a view of downtown and the Space Needle from our front door. Yup… it’s a lovely urban neighborhood. We had our front yard pruned and weeded yesterday. Oh, it looks so nice!
Happy Spring! :~)
Wow! What a beautiful spot. Of course, your Aussie adds much (says she who has a black tri)
What a peaceful place you live in!
