Here is this week’s Fun Monday challenge as requested by Sayre:
Brush
off your interview skills. Talk to everyone who lives in your house. I
want to know what their, and your, favorite piece of art is in your
home. Photographs do not count. If there was a fire in your home,
everyone would grab photographs, but what is the non-photographic piece
of art you would grab on your way out – and why? (Edit: These don’t
have to be paintings – these can be wall hangings, statues, lumps of
clay by your child, anything that is artistic expression of some kind
EXCEPT photographs.)
Well, since my head is still in a vice, my nose is a faucet, my chest feels like an elephant is sitting on it, I’m achier than Billy Ray Cyrus’ 15-year-old breaky-heart, AND on top of all that, I’m getting a flippin’ fever blister, I wasn’t going to participate (if ever I NEEDED a Coke with crushed ice in a glass with a flex straw, it’s NOW :/).
Then, I saw this at Jenny’s and I couldn’t help but play with her new favorite toy.
These expressions capture perfectly how I feel…and I’m pulling a Swampwitch and breaking the rules. I figure this counts as fine art since it’s hanging in a museum for goodness sakes.
Be sure to visit Sayre for a list of Fun Monday posts by people who actually did what she asked them to do :).
Well, you know what they say – rules are made to be broken! And you guys have come up with some interesting ways to break them! Love the pictures… is that you? Or did you take them? Either way (or even if neither), very cool!
Definitelt art! Sorry you’re feeling bad and hope you feel better soon.
heh heh –
I know which picture I should have used for my Can-Can dance.
I’m glad Jenny gave you something to do while you’re sick. Please take care of yourself. If you die, the blog will become inactive and Steve and I will be out on the streets (of course, I’m used to that).
HA! I love what weird things Jenny can find for us to amuse ourselves.
Sayre, yes, they’re me, and no, I didn’t take them. And, yes, they DO express how I currently feel–aggravated and angry…I don’t do sick well, but when my family gets home, I’ll try to put on a happy face ….
Thanks, Lisa.
Just what are you saying, Karmyn!
Hey, Min, what if I DID die? You and Steve could keep the blog alive, setting all kinds of records for the blogosphere. That would make my other-worldly state very happy!
Nikki, that’s why I don’t even bother looking…I let Jenny do the work for me :).
If you die, someone will undoubtedly hack your site and re-title it: Ex-pensieve. Then Min and I couldn’t afford the rent anyway. So the easy solution is this: just don’t die.
Stephen, you’re the funniest man in show business…you rival Pamela for wittiest, too.
Well for goodness sakes!! Take care of yourself. Me? I drink cola with crushed ice just for THAT reason…to ward off the evils of flu and colds!!! Be well soon.
Love your choices for the week.
I’ve spent some time playing with that toy, too! May be why I’m having trouble visiting all the Fun Monday participants….
Cool photos!
That’s really cool, what’s the toy?
hey, drink some coke and feel better soon! 🙂
in the meantime, i’ve got to check that toy out! it looks like great fun!
Aww, hope you feel better soon.
xoxo
will it fit thru the door when I scream “FIRE”
Robin, you make a lovely piece of art.
Cool toy! I’ll have fun playing with it!
Sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well!
Take care.
Now, there is art worth saving. Interactive is so much more fun than something that just hangs on the wall.
I hope that you feel better soon.
Oh, darlin’…so sorry you don’t feel well. Here’s a hug: ((Robin)).
What the he++ do you mean: “pulling an SW and breaking the rules? What rules? There are rules?
Feel better, my sweet.
Question: When a blogger ‘insists’ that you sign in with an Old Blogger account (anonymous crap) that navigates them to your old blog, how do you add that link that navigates them to your Typepad blog?
If you tell me I have to know html, I will reach through your monitor and squeeze the snot out of your nose.
Okay I wasn’t going to comment, since you cheated and all, and I really would have liked to have called back to see if your head actually exploded or something but since you “are” sick and I really like the feet picture up the top. I relented and thought I’d say hi. So Hi!
PS. It was also fun playing with the “art” Cheers
You’re so hot. Seriously.
Also, who’s Steve and why is he living with Mindy? I’ve missed so much while I’ve been sick.
Love this! I’m sure I’ll be addicted soon. And the others are right – you are gorgeous. 🙂
Hi Robin! I have instituted compliment instead of comment, so here I am bringing on the love. I think I’ve said before that you are so well written, but at least now I’m un-intimidated. When you wrote about your sick 15 y.o. it really pulled at my heartstrings. That age is hard, but you reminded me that no matter how old, they are always our babies and will always be in need of an occassional snuggle.
Plus you are the ultimate- snarky AND caring. Who could beat that? I love to read your blog and I think your blog makes the blog world, and really the world in general a better place with your unique you!
Oh I LOVE that new toy. New ways to present photos ALWAYS get my attention. I am so going to try this with pictures of our new work of art…our newly adopted baby girl. 🙂
Too funny Robin! You’re famous! I’ve bookmarked the link and I’ll play with my pics there at a later date. Which reminds me, I do love photography…. no time these days. {{{Hugs}}}
