Somehow, Paula Deen found out about Snackalicous and Recipe Round Up! Yesterday I received a not-so personal email from her with this DELICIOUS Super Bowlish recipe for "Hot & Spicy Refried Bean Dip". Since she doesn’t have hew own blog, I suppose that’s why she didn’t link it. Or maybe it was purely coincidental.
It may be little more than a ploy to sell her "Southern Spice Rub" and "Hot Sauce", but this recipe definitely looks like something I need to try.
Oooo, and if YOU want to try it, I’ll give you the email promo code that was attached for 20% off anything in her store–PDEB125.
For the record, j’adore Paula Deen! She’s sassy and sexy and FULL of life, and hers is a rags to riches tale that rivals Cinderella. But in the kitchen.
Enjoy this little clip of vintage Paula…if you aren’t already familiar with her, you’ll get a kick out of it…if you ARE already familiar with her, you will, too ;).
well I’d like the opportunity to test that cake. snicker.
The Game Day pick looks great. Black beans are one of my favorite legumes.
How do you rate getting celebrity Emails?????
We’re Paula Deen’s adoring fans. Phil loves to cook, but man, he really loves Paula Deen. She makes me a little jealous when she comes on and he says, “I love Paula Deen!” And the way he laughs and smiles when she’s on…
Well, I watch to try and take lessons, not cooking lessons, mind you. I think I need to flirt like she does. She’s always so happy and flirty, I need to be more like that.
My grandson, when he was 4, was in love with Miss Paula. We still watch her on the weekends and whenever I say that I am gonna cook one of her recipes, he gets out the butter!
Well, just touch us! How nice is that! You are famous, girl!
I’d never heard of her before but she’s cracking me up.
I’ve never heard of her but that video clip was funny so I can see why she is a popular lady~ I need some of that cake!
Paula Deen – cool.
So, if I write a bitter post about my disappointment in the Miss America pageant today – do you think the judges will e-mail me an apology?
I love Paula Deen too. I noticed yesterday on this blog a Nachos recipe that everyone might like:

You should go look at how clean her oven racks are. Pretty awesome.
That recipe looks great. What a cute video clip. I put a recipe up, after reading your comment in Joy’s post yesterday. It took me most of the day. I have so much trouble linking buttons and posts and I ended up just copying and pasteing and will see if there is a better way to do it when Sirdar gets in.
Well, you are darn near famous! Rubbin’ elbows with Paula. LOL.
I adore this woman!! Her sons are great as well. The recipe sounds yummy!!! 😀
And I JUST found refried beans here at my local grocery store! (trust me, that’s feat where I live in UK)
I’m definitely going to enjoy making this for the family next weekend. Thanks Robin:)!
p.s. gah – it’s making me homesick…all this talk about southern mexican food….I’m so glad we’re going home for a visit this summer!
Dish me up some of that Suthun’ Drawl…ya’ll. She is a hoot. I just can’t use as much butter and cream as she does. Watching her show causes me to gain weight.
What a hoot! I don’t think I have reached the cake is better than sex point yet…at least I hope not at 25 years old. Anyways, that was a GREAT laugh this morning. Thanks!
mmmmmm – that looks like a yummy recipe – I wonder if I can use my own spice rub and just kind of wing it?
I have never heard of her before. But I think I’d like to try her cake!
Holy smokes….that is soooooooooooooo COOL!!!!! =)
I love Paula Deen! I even got my picture taken with her and got to say hi but I’m not sure she even registered who I was before moving on to the next picture. But we had good seats at her show and she was so funny! Have you read her bio? It’s just like she is talking to you.
I wish my husband drooled over my cooking as much as he does watching Paula cook.
We love Paula too, and one of these days, I want to make her famous Coconut cake.
How cool is that to be getting emails from Stars, you lucky girl!!
Paula – I watched you on Kathie Lee and Hoda this morning with yourcocnut cake. Looks delicious.
Also, I must say the movie “Dirty Dancing” is my favorite movie. I can watch it over and over.
You are special.
I just love Paula too. How fun that she reads your blog.
