I was sitting at my kitchen table, uploading my final captures for Project Yellow, when these two guys decided to interrupt.
He couldn’t be bothered with an extended photo shoot;
he lasted all of two pictures.
Still…I’m equally astounded by his allure.
and produce this almost SOOC?
How can I be wordless even if it IS Wednesday? 😉

wordless wednesday
Buzzin’ and Flittin’…Flittin’ and Buzzin’…Those are incredible. The colors are so intense. Wow! Makes me want to write Haiku. Gesundheit !
I can understand how you can’t be wordless here. I never am in my WW posts. But in my response to what you’ve captured, I’m almost speechless. I’ll try though. First off, Bravo!!! You’re GOOD! So much to compliment on…where to start. I love the large depth of field blurring the background. And the images are so sharp. I love the detail you captured in the bee’s eye. And the colors…WOW. I could go on and on. Well done. Well done.
Here’s another thing we have in common (besides Clooney, of course, and BTW I saw his new movie Sunday night and it’s not worth seeing. Even later as a rental. {yawn} Poor attempt at modern Cary Grant/Katherine Hepburn style.): I’ve got a new D80 and snapping everything in site in this gorgeous southern spring. I want to do WW everyday. I actually think I’m about to start a photoblog, ’cause I don’t know what to do will all this lovely stuff. 🙂
Oh – I forgot my question: what lens are you using?
oh, very nice! they wanted to be sure they were photographed at their best – great pictures!
happy ww. ?
Oh pretty! They look perfect on those bright flowers too. 🙂
The photos deserves a lot of words indeed! They’re beautiful.
I have to second Robert’s and Dawn’s comments. These are amazingly beautiful, crisp and clean, simply stunning shots, Robin! God is so incredible!! 😀
Amazing and beautiful. I have a feeling this hobby-turned-passion might just blossom into a career someday. (Particularly if insects are inclined to hire wedding photographers.)
Wow! I wish I could make pictures like that! Very pretty!
Oh so pretty! Love them! Happy WW!

These are terrific. You did a good job capturing these creatures who hardly sit still. Just wondering: did you take in Shutter Priority?
Such BEAUTIES!!!!! The camera is a joy isn’t it? And you certainly had one with you at the right time! Wow, what gorgeous photos Robin!!!
My W W is a very short video of the sunrise over the Gulf of Mexico! Hope to see you there, visiting with me today.
Happy Wednesday
Absolutely beautiful shots. Amazing.
Those are GREAT shots! I have a Nikon D40X and my pics aren’t nearly as good! I wish I had your eye! Happy WW!

We don’t have ANYTHING even remotely green yet – but at least the snow is gone from our neighborhood!

Great shot! LOve it.
THANKS for all your thoughts–I just gotta tell you, for me, it was a PHOTOGRAPHIC EVENT! I was flipping out, snapping away, feeling like I was six years old or something!
A few responses to specific comments of yours:
Robert, please feel free to be so “speechless” every time you visit ;).
Dawn, thanks for the head’s up (I hadn’t heard a review yet). And, girlieQ, I HEAR YA LOUD AND CLEAR! I wanted to post dozens of pics! The lens was the 55-200 (does that answer your question?).
Stephen, I’m getting photo-twitchy alright–seeing the result gives me a not-so-cheap thrill!
June, I’m embarrassed to admit it was on AUTO! There was just no time to think about settings–this was a total reaction to what I was seeing–I had to FLY outside to catch them.
Fly…hehe…;)
Again, ALL your comments are SOOOO appreciated!!! I delighted in this series and I’m thrilled some of you sound like you did, too :).
Those are really cool pictures! Thanks for sharing! Enjoy your day!

Beautiful, beautiful photos. I want a camera like yours… but of course it still takes an eye and talent to get photos like this.
Great artistry in these pictures!
Awesome, awesome, AWESOME! My Wordless Wednesday isn’t nature this week, but I have a LOT of spring photos on my blog over the last week or so. I’m having a blast.

Mohammed Ali ..who would ” flit like a butterfly and sting like a bee” !!
I just had to come back over and surround myself with this beauty…prettiest place I’ve been.
Also, can’t believe I won today…FIRST !

Those pictures are amazing, that you can actually see the fuzz on that bee or hornet or whatever he is. Wow, I am in awe…
first of all: these are stunning. Makes me quadrupally mad at my @#$R% car that it stole my $1000 camera money I saved forever for.
I have photographed thousands of bumble bees (and this does not quite look like one but it does . . . ) and I have never seen green eyes! That’s so cool!
Gorgeous!! Happy WW!

Nature’s beauty amazes us in the most unexpected way!The amazing thing is that you were there to witness its unfolding!
