Author note: I’ve noticed an increased number of search engine hits to this post from people looking for Spring haikus; while I appreciate your visit to PENSIEVE, please do not copy these original works as your own!
As we near The Perfect Date–
"…April 25th. Because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket." (know the reference?)
what better time for inspiration to write poetry? Here are my submissions for this month’s Poetic License along with the images that inspired them. If you’re inspired to write your own, after it’s posted, be sure to come back here and link it (your poem, not your main page)–I can’t wait to read ’em! Be sure to visit as many others as you’re able to, too (and let ’em know you did!).
Delicate beauty
Metamorphosis unfolds
Masterpiece in flight.
The world awakens
Artist palette emerges
Brush strokes of nature.
Done, Robin, and thanks again for hosting. Your poems are, as always, quite possibly perfect.
I haven’t done anything yet, but I’ll do one tomorrow.
As for the quote, since April 25th is ANZAC Day, I’d say it’s someone about to get his arse shot off at Gallipoli.
is that ms.congeniality?
Very, very nice. Glad I didn’t read these before writing my own, or I may have just thrown in the towel. 🙂 They are just perfect…
Miss Congeniality. I remember it because 4/25 is my birthday… but where I live, the weather is never good on my birthday. Usually raining, often windy. –Beautiful haiku. The colorization of the world is one of my favorite parts of spring.
Beautiful! Love the photos too!
The butterfly shot is one of my favorite Project Yellow pictures yet. I can never get that close to one. Wonderful detail.
Oooh – I’d so much rather be looking at your “masterpieces of flight” right now, than my “April blizzard”.
Fun Haikus!
Thanks for linking me.
You are an inspiration. Your poems are always so lovely.
I love the second one (well, I love them both, but really like the second one). This was a lot of fun this month, because haiku is one of my new favorite poetry forms. Thanks for hosting this Robin, you always do a great job picking themes and formats!!
Thanks for linking me! This was fun but I’ll have to add pictures next time. I love the brilliance of your photos!
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Your haiku are lovely!
Very nice! I love PPL so much!
both great haiku, paints quite a beautiful picture of butterflies and spring
Miss Congeniality, of course — great quote = )
Love your shots, too, and thanks for visiting my blog a well!
Robin, thank you for telling me about my link at Project Yellow. I really appreciate it! I participate in something called < a href="http://onesingleimpression.blogspot.com/One Single Impression which gives up writing prompts for writing poetry. Thanks again. 😀
Beautiful poems! I’m not sure I quite got the hang of it.. too much of complete sentence or something. 😛
I like these. Kind of fun when you can use metamorphosis in a poem too. As for April 25th and “just a light jacket” I would say, depends where you live 🙂
(As I look out my window at snow).
Love the butterfly poem and the quote. I love Miss Congeniality and that part always cracks me up!
Mine is up now!
lovely images
and poetry about Spring!
Today is my 1st
time to ‘play’ along
with your poetic license
but now I shall go
visit others who
have participated and
see what they’ve published ;–)
I have more Haiku
on my other blog today
Oddities and Change
Hugs and blessings,
Robin, I don’t think I did the link thing right. Besides thinking I would be out of town already, that’s one of the reasons I emailed you mine, so that you could link it for me. One of these days, I’ll be as “computer capable” as you and all of the others are. Anyway, my name is on the list, so if someone decides to visit, they can see my haikus. I had fun doing them. Hope helping me hasn’t been a “thorn.” Sorry!
I did my haiku for Haiku Friday. Can I sign up here, too?
Oh, and I love your quote. I’m a huge fan of Sandra Bullock movies.
Beautiful pics to accompany the haiku poetry.
I actually had mine up [yesterday] but forgot to come over to Mr. Linky. Doh, me! 😀
