Pepper and Pippin are fighting like cats and dogs, except it’s bunny vs. bunny….
When I checked on them just now, piles of fur were dotted all over their hutch….
Pepper hasn’t let us hold her in days (she hasn’t always been so elusive)…
Several weeks ago I "caught" them in some serious monkey business (but who knows how long they’d been foolin’ around???).
But, based on the date of that post…it’s "too soon".
oh dear sounds like the dates might be wrong!!
Well, if she is feeling like me – then she can’t be too far off. Believe me – stay away from the pregnant bunny. Cranky? You BET!
Hopefully you’ll get enough for a decent stew.
I use to raise rabbits and show them in FFA! =)
Maybe she is prgo and he needs to be OUT of the pen! He will kill the babies! You might be seeing the fur because she pulls is out under her neck (that fat roll) and that will be that babies nest!!!
Keep me posted!
Hair ripping-may I just say “ouch!” I personally recommend a down pillow and perhaps a cute duvee’ for nesting, saves on ones tresses. Send the ol’ man hoppin’ over to Home Depot and then snuggle in for a deserved nap before the baby Thumpers arrive. By the way I have found the perfect cure for the crankies–a couple of carats! Works everytime.
Spring on!
Bebeh bunnies on the way!!
Rabbits are naturally violent. This is not necessarily indicative of impending gremlins. One will eventually kill the other, eat it’s brains, absorb its knowledge and strength, and then come after your children.
Destroy them now while you have the opportunity.
If you allow them to reproduce, the fate of mankind is sealed.
Awwww, baby bunny pictures coming soon!
(WT, you are so stinking morbid.)
Robin, I am delurking to say LISTEN TO WT unless you want traumatized children. Mother rabbits need to be in their own cage with nesting material, etc. The males WILL eat the babies, and even worse, sometimes the mothers eat their own babies if they feel anxious and threatened in any way. Maybe some advice from a local vet would be helpful or I am sure there is plenty of info on the internet.
I used to have bunnies and the female would get cranky a while before the date. She would also pluck from the male for her nest instead of herself. 🙂
