Texts from my son give me unexpected smiles:
The text? "Mom vivacious"
The picture:
It actually had a voice message, too…I’ll spare you those details…:/.
When I texted him back and told him he cracked me up, his return reply? "That’s what I was goin’ for."
Man, I love this kid….!
p.s. He’s the last teenager in America who doesn’t own a cell phone…if you don’t have a child this age, you cannot imagine the pressure for him to have one! I’m not sure if there’s more pressure on him from friends or US from our culture!!
Tell him that he’s not the last one. My girl would like to have one too and we keep telling her no. Besides, she can call anyone she wants from her friends’ phones…
LOL too funny!!! My daughter doesn’t have one either. Although I’m rethinking that idea since she is with her dad every other weekend. I want to make sure she has a way to get a hold of me if she needed me.
I’m not sure what to make of that picture. It’s like punk meets starfish.
LOL!!! That’s tooo funny! My daughter thinks she needs one and she is SEVEN!!!! AGH! She’s with me almost 24/7…she doesn’t understand why her cousins get them and she doesn’t… *sigh*
My 17 year old doesn’t have one. He doesn’t have an iPod, either. And he can manage to carry on a conversation in the presence of real people and even adults.
No computer in his room.
: P
(Can you tell I’m not wild about the whole plugged in thing?)
Great post. Made me smile, too.
Love the pic…
My boys know that they won’t be getting cell phones until they are 16 and driving on their own. Daughter wouldn’t have gotten one before then either but her egg-donor pays for it and we didn’t have much of a choice.
I’ll probably be the last hold out in America.
