There’s an easy wonder in his eyes when he’s at play, unaware of the world around him. Cloaked instead in imagination and delight in the ordinary, his countenance reveals what he’s unwilling to say, mischievous eyes radiating sunbeams of delight. I find myself wishing I could channel his thoughts.

Wow! Those are great shots, but I am feeling a little nervous just looking at them. Like the mother in me wants to scream “STOP!”
My son would luv to jump that high, he gets off his swing, runs & jumps into pool, and calls it a “slingshot”.
What great action shots!
Great shots … I love swinging!
Do you have the orthopedic surgeon on speed dial???
I don’t know who’s braver — the boy or the mom! Thanks for sharing these great shots!
whoa, superb! i just hope he did not get hurt.
Wow, you can just feel the joy…how refreshing!
My WW is up here if you’d like to stop by:

I love action shots like these. When I was a photojournalist, the bosses told me, “Don’t encourage your subjects to take more risks just because you’re there taking pictures.”
Sure, right. Like I could prevent teens on bicycles and skateboards from doing that.
Fabulous photo’s, looks like a lot of fun!!
Now that looks like fun. Has he been approached by the Olympics Committee about joining the Synchronized Swinging team? I hear it’s going to be a competitive sport this year.
My WW is up, too. Stop by and say a kind word or two. If you’re not sure what to say, feel free to use one of these pre-fabricated comments: “Gosh, that’s cool”; “Neato”; “Lovely photo”; or “You’re creepin’ me out.”
And have a really swell day.

Does it get any better than family photos? These are fun. And he’s such a fun spirited willing participant. That’s great. Lily is starting to get a bit uncooperative with the camera. She tells me “no” when she sees me getting it. Grrrrr!!!
Cool !I love these fun shot – boo it is winter in Australia now and pouring rain today

Great shots – he looks like he’s having such fun!!!
Now that is a great summer activity!! I loved doing that when I was younger, seeing how high we could get and then how much “air time” we got!
Those are awesome shots you got! So did your heart beat a little harder while watching this??
Happy WW!!
What fantastic shots!! Those are so great and catch all the action. Kudos to you!

Happy WW!
Great pics! I love swinging!
Fantastic shots! And where exactly were you when you took these???
These are wonderful, Robin. The sheer joy on his face brings back delightful memories.
When I was a little girl, one of my favorite things was to go outside at dusk and swing as high as I could–to that point where the swing pauses as if it’s trying to decide whether to fall back down or loop over the top of the swingset. I loved the speed, the drop in my stomach when the direction changed, the wind in my face and hair, leaning back and looking at the ground upside down. Dreaming and laughing till the sky turned dark purple and stars blinked their eyes open, ready to play after a day of rest.
I still love to swing. It’s almost like getting into a time machine and traveling back to the pure delights of childhood. Thanks for sending me there this morning with these photographs.
Love, Jeanne
I love the shot where he is looking directly at the camera! AWESOME!!!
The teacher in me wants to scream, “No jumping out of the swings!” Then I remember it’s summer and scream, “Jump, Boy, Jump!”
I couldn’t look at the jumping pictures. Scares the crap out of me.
The kid in me is yellin’ “AWESOME! I want to try it, my turn my turn!” The new mom me is thinkin’ “Oh my, be careful!”
Great shots! Happy WW. 🙂
Wow, that looks like FUN!
Great shots, but like other moms here, they made me horribly nervous! 😀 My dad broke some ribs when he was six doing just that.
Proof that we never outgrow the delight of flying through the air on a swing.
Great in-flight shots!
Those are amazing! They capture the spirit of a boy so well. Happy WW!
What fantastic action shots! Looks like he had a great time!
Great shots! I took some pics of a little girl on the swing looking up. They are some of my favorites. They reminded me of the joy of childhood.
Happy WW
How fun! Great shots!
Looks like fun! I am so clutzy though, I doubt I should try that.
Wow! Great shots!
Yikes. I hope you have some good insurance and that he didn’t land on you but boys will be boys.
