Following is an interesting…compelling…and telling visual from the recent Democratic and Republican National Conventions depicting word use in the speeches given.
HT and thanks to Chrysalis via twitter. Original link from The New York Times "Politics" page.
That’s interesting – thanks for sharing! I think hubby and I are going to watch the speeches from the DNC sometime today, since we missed them.
That is so very cool! My husband will appreciate this when I show it to him. Thanks for sharing!
i find it soooo interesting that the Democrats used the word “McCain” a ton more than the Republicans did. Fascinating stuff, i tell you!
Very interesting!!
Robin- Thank you for this link-I love it! Pretty telling. Can’t wait to show it to my hubby!
that is so cool!
That really was fascinating wasn’t it? Thanks for the linky love. (BTW, Twitter is awesome!) :~D
Whoa, someone had a lot of time to sit down and count words! But I fail to see the significance?
Very intriguing….especially how many times the opponents name was spoken.
Very interesting to actually see the differences in a graph such as that!
Robin — stop by my blog and pick up a little award okay….
Very interesting stuff. Thank you.
I find that very interesting. Hmmm, that just proves to me that the Republicans can stand on their own issues while the Democrats need to bash in order to make any points. Very telling indeed.
Robin, this was neat. I wonder how accurate it really is. Interesting nontheless. Might show it to hubby. We purposely watched both conventions. We’re just so NOT going to vote for one definitely (knew this before the conventions), but unfortunately, where we thought we were going to be left with a sure bet on the other side, we’re not liking all that we see there either. We wish it were cut and dry. I guess we’d better go with the lesser of two evils, if you know what I mean. I’d like to vote for the one that historically evangelical Christians would automatically vote for just because it’s “the party” we vote for regardless of the candidate’s (it’s just “what you do”) character, stance on certain issues, etc., and in the end, we may have to, but I can tell you, we are just not satisfied. I wish another of the Republican party’s nominees had gotten the nomination and were the one accepting that at the convention, but that was not to be. Oh well…God knew and such is life. Everything is filtered through His hands, and nothing catches Him by surprise. He knows how this will turn out and what He will do with it. All I can say is “Come quickly Lord Jesus, come!”
On another note, I’ve tagged you, and I hope you don’t mind. It was a fun little play-along that I was tagged for, and I needed to pick 8 people to play. You came to mind, of course. I know you’re super duper busy as usual, but if you get a chance, skate on over to my place, look for the post labeled “Tagged–8 random things about me,” post about it, and tag someone else. I hope you haven’t already been tagged. If you have, I apologize. Have a great evening girlie!!
