It’s disturbing when I relate so well to Elaine Benis.
Though I thought I had every episode of Seinfeld memorized, I had forgotten about this exchange between Elaine and Jake Jarmel until reminded last night when watching “The Sniffing Accountant” episode. Note: Swedish subtitles included–you know–as a courtesy to all my Swedish readers….
As a self-proclaimed Abuser of Ellipses, I understand how Elaine would take offense at Jake’s exclamation point omission! Quite a travesty, it’s clearly a relationship end-er, yes?!
😉
oh gee. I’ve been that ridiculous. I mean: I’ve been that ridiculous!!!!
Hey – punctuation can make a big difference!! LOL
Swampwitch is going to have a baby!!!!!!
Just kidding !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Elaine, by the way !!!!!!
Swampwitch is having a…BABY?!?!?!
My mother has accused me of overusing…ellipses. And italics. But I don’t think so…do you?
ROTFL!! Never saw that one – hysterical, of course. And thanks for the Swedish primer. I feel so much . . . more Norweigan now. I tried to follow along, but it was slightly awkward. Thanks for the laugh, my fellow ellipses user…
Speaking of which, do you put all three together, or do you put a space between each dot? Is it truly ellipses with the spaces? I think everything is too scrunched without them, though. What should I call them? Do they still qualify as ellipses? Notice the question mark? I used it at the end of questions. Cause I’m so smart like that.
HA! 😀
I dunno. That lady was pretty irate about it though. What was HER big problem!?!?!??!?
I think that was the best post title I’ve seen in a long time. 😉
I’m an over-ellipsizer, and an over parentheseer, too. (snort!)
hee hee hee
You love my cheez whiz broccoli casserole, you overuse ellipses and you love Seinfeld. My deah, it’s so meant to be 😉
LOL. And James thinks we argue about stupid stuff. :p
I overuse smilies. =)
It’s a compulsion. 😉
