Well, now…Brit Hume's suggestion that Tiger Woods needs to embrace the Christian faith surprised me (on national television, no less…!).
What are your thoughts after watching this clip??

I think it’s courageous – awkward, but courageous.
Kudos to Brit! In a commentary forum his comments were completely appropriate. I have always repected Mr. Hume, but his boldness is an inspiration to all of us.
Wow. That’s pretty awesome. It never occurred to me either. That’s one for Brit.
I am usually way too wrapped up in the gossip/scandal of it all to stop and pray. Christian fail for me most definitely. Thanks for pointing me toward this clip.
I had to laugh at the segment to be honest. He is telling Tiger Woods, your religion won’t forgive you enough, turn Christian. Seriously? Now I know, if I goof up royally, I will just convert to being a Christian for forgiveness. Give me a break. Figures it was on Fox news, shocker!
I am new in the blogging world, but the title of this post really reached out to me…I admire Brit for sharing his faith with Tiger…I have felt sad for him as his transgressions have been broadcasted constantly…we are all broken vessels…I pray his life will be healed and he will inspire many…Thanks for posting this clip….
I agree with all comments except those of Ginny. It’s not often you hear Christianity promoted in the media and I think Brit should be admired for his confidence and boldness. Having said that, I have no idea what Tiger’s religious beliefs are and it doesn’t sound like Brit was too sure of them, either.
Agreed. On both counts.
I tell ya this, they were certainly unexpected! I really have never followed him, but he got my attention for his boldness!
Yep :).
It was just surprising to me…I "had" to post it! In this day and time, public comments like that are rare. I wonder what the backlash is to him….
Ginny,
I love your honesty and respect your perspective…but…I don't agree (hope you don't shun me forevah!). Without going back and watching the clip again, I didn't quite "hear" what you heard. Christianity is in part based on the forgiveness of sin…Buddism won't extend that grace to him….
But Christianity is also not a faith of manipulation; if Tiger (anyone) turned to it ONLY because they needed absolution, they're missing the point of Christ's life, death and resurrection.
Ahh, Lee, welcome to this little (umm, make that ginormous) world! Prayer for healing…perfect. In that, you cover it all :). {thanks for your visit to my blog!}
As I wondered a few comments before yours, I wonder if Brit is experiencing backlash; if so, I haven't seen it. I DO admire anyone who's willing to declare publicly their faith in Christ. It's not so popular these days…….:/.
I liked it, but I really wanted him to say that in CHRIST you will find redemption and forgiveness, not in “Christianity.” He was more clear about it later in an O’Reilly interview, he clarified that it is in Christ that you find those things.
Here is that clip:
