Let's start by assigning blame: Al Gore. Since he invented the internet, it's absolutely his fault for making us a fatter nation. Not only can we find fabulous recipes in two clicks of a mouse, beautiful pictures and step-by-step commentary compel us to make things we never knew existed. Cookbooks are limited, but the interwebs? An infinite tangle of calorie-riddled deliciosity, oui?
Daggum it.
I've stumbled across a few recipes recently I've gotta–just got to–try…the pictures alone made me gain three pounds.

{Discovered on Flour Child, a darling 17-year-old who bakes because she can't help it. I'm in love.}
Rosemary Citrus Garlic Crockpot Chicken
{From my sweet friend Rachel at A Southern Fairytale, the title flavors alone appeal; Crockpot recipes are a mama's helping hands during sports seasons…!}
{Recognize this beauty? She's on September's cover of Southern Living. Photo: Luca Trovato; Styling: Buffy Hargett}
Porkchops with Apples and Creamy Bacon Cheese Grits
{Ree Drummond aka The Pioneer Woman is responsible for making me drool like a St. Bernard. But I love her, anyway.}
Chocolate Cupcakes with Flaming Strawberries
{Ohmeohmy…for the coolness factor of this alone, I must one day find a reason to make these from Sprinkle Bakes.}
Your turn! Please share tricks, treats & good-to-eats you've made or discovered lately!
The grilled balsamic garlic pork tenderloin that is being pinned like crazy over on Pinterest. It is such an easy rub/marinade and the results are delicious. My family scarfed it down last week.
Robin, my dear, you are putting me to shame. Just in case you hadn’t heard (and why would you?), I started a new job last week. I am not cooking anything. (Nor am I writing much of anything either.) In fact, tonight we had leftover hot dogs–isn’t that sad?? I have been thinking all day that I really, really, REALLY need to get my cooking act together. I think the pork chop and grits recipe would be a good place to start.
I just gained 5 pounds looking at these pictures! OHHHH! Yummy.
I better not attempt anything involving fire…I could sure use a piece of that bundt cake though.
Suddenly my oatmeal tastes pretty boring…kind of like drywall mud.
My Pinterest “recipes I want to try” board is chock FULL of stuff like this! And ps now I’m going to pin the mousse and check out the Flour Child blog!
I love pinterest 😉
And I adore you! Thank you for including my recipe xoxoox
Nicole, Ok, so I’m not pinning much, though I like it, but I KNOW there’s an easier way than I’m doing it so….hence the not pinning much. BUT, your recipe sounds WONDERFUL so I must find it!!! Thanks for the recommendation!
Shelly, I spied on you on FB and saw you had started working again (congratulations!). I wish you lived closer so I could BRING you dinner, friend! Leftover hotdogs break.my.heart AND make.me.giggle. xo
Sarah, you and me both, sister!
Min, blech. Drywall mud is NOT my favorite flavor. I shall bring you breakfast, too. Move next door, will ya? (HEEEEEEEYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!)
Mrs. Jen, I wrote her a stalker email today and I think I scared her. Forgive me if she closes her blog! 🙂
Rachel, I need to get BETTER at pinterest; I like it but I kinda get bogged down dang it. YOUR RECIPE IS ONE I CAN’T WAIT TO MAKE….soon, I promise! 🙂 It’s mouthwatering ;).
You had me at espresso chocolate mousse and then sent me over the edge of happiness with the flaming strawberries. Yum-O. And yes … let’s blame Al Gore … he should have put it in a “lock box.”
