I actually remember Ree's first cooking post, a long, long, LONG time ago. What made me especially remember it was our mutual friend Willowtree, a curmudgeonly, foul-mouthed but completely lovable Australian, posted a recipe right after she did, and the contrast between his and hers was…memorable. Anyways, I tried to find it in her archives but that was turning into an unsuccessful time suck, so I moved on.
Now I'm trying to win an autographed copy because though we've never met, I feel like I know her. I think she has that affect on most people with her cheerful demeanor and always-positive attitude, not to mention she knows how to turn a word with humor and wit. And she's a brilliant photographer, lover of film and pop culture, teller of her favorite products and why, and saliva-inducing food blogger.
