Years ago in a friend’s living room during a Beth Moore Bible Study (the big hair years), a woman informed me I was going straight to Hell and taking my daughter with me.

I had just admitted I was taking my third grade daughter to see Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone the day the film was released.

Although I knew several others had planned to see it with their children as well – we had just been discussing it prior to Deb’s arrival - they were deafeningly quiet.  On the inside, I breathed fire. Cowards!  But to the seeing world I stood there reeling from the impact of Deb’s surprise assault.

I asked her if she had read any of the books (she hadn’t) but beyond that said very little. Judgment and Condemnation were shouting so loudly, Reason couldn’t have heard if she tried….
