I LOVE celebrating the Advent season! I love introducing others to the wonder, hope, peace, joy and love that are all wrapped up in swaddling cloth bows.
Today we light the second candle, the Bethlehem candle which represents peace. It symbolizes the preparations being made to receive and cradle the Christ child. Bethlehem is a story about a humble couple on an unwanted journey, at an inconvenient time, to visit a tiny insignificant town.

What a lovely picture and post!
My hubby, I don’t think, knows about advent and what it means. As I age I’m finding I need–nay WANT more of Jesus & His love, peace, joy, & hope.
I had forgotten about lighting candles and what each day celebrates. My family never truly did advent–it was done in church only. During this season I will try to bring more of the Peace & Silent Night to the world in which I live.
