A rather large and mysterious package arrived just before Mother’s Day…
Hmmmm, it’s FULL of something…a whole lotta somethings!
Remember this post ? And then THIS ONE?
Well, Risa chose to make a "Cream Tea" gift basket as her part of the prize package, defined by Tea Embassy as: "In
tea culture of the United Kingdom, a cream tea consists of simply hot
tea, scones, and clotted cream or other condiments for the scones. This
is an informal time for guests of a household to share tea and
conversation with a light snack."
Included in my box of surprises were her yummy Cream Scones mix, her favorite Sweet Cream black tea (one that she serves at her tea parties), Creamy Lemon Curd made by Trader Joes, Clotted Cream, a creamy white teacup & saucer, luncheon plate, tea-for-one teapot, pink linen serviette, pink feather boa (Risa must have a SPICY side!), ParTea note cards and stickers–all in a cute stripe bread basket (could be used for a small tray).
Thank you, too, to A Bit of Pink Heaven for the tea cozy, Calamity Kim for the Blue Willow tea cup and saucer, postcard and crocheted doilie, C. Craft & Collectibles for the tea-themed lace table runner, Norththreads for the Handmade Felt Egg-shaped Sugar Cookies Sweet Repeats for the tin of tea, and to Cathy’s Wraps for the wrapped floral containers.
Risa’s love language must be gift-giving, she’s up to it AGAIN! She’s hosting a gift swap and you have until May 19th to sign up…click the last image, and if I’m not mistaken, it’ll take you to the spot with all the details!
Thanks again to Risa and all the contributors! Your box of goodies was a a delight to receive and certainly made me feel like the Queen Mother :).
Dear Robin. Lucky you! I LOVE that type of stuff – and I adore the colours! I’m such a girl at heart. All the best for your tea party. Ahhh. Such a lovely gift!
I must try clotted cream.. I have no idea what it is like.
What a lovely package for afternoon tea.
I must confess to being bemused at clotted cream in a tin. Can it taste anything like the real clotted cream from Cornwall or Devon that would never come from a tin. Not that I care because I can’t stand the stuff!
Ohhhh, clotted cream and strawberry jam on scones is almost heaven. Add a piping hot cuppa and you’re standing at heaven’s gate.
Robin, YOU are a blessed, tea-loving woman with this gift! Those pictures make me want to drive over there and take afternoon tea on your brick garden walk with you.
(I’m drooling over the tea pot in particular.)
What a great gift!!!!
Yummmmm, scones.
Great, now I am hungry and I just finished breakfast. Don’t you hate it when that happens?
What a great prize!!! Are you signing up for her swap? I’m doing a different one right now otherwise I’d do it.
Enjoy your tea!!!!
ohhh sounds fabulous!!! I love scones! and tea! 🙂
Dear LMM, it was even prettier in person :)…full of all things girlie.
Pamela, I have no idea, either, but if it’s close to whipped cream, I’ll be all smiles!
Beccy, I have NO idea! How will I know the difference since I’ve never had either???
Erin, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? I’d love to have tea with my bluddies :). The teapot is one of my favorite cercies in the bunch.
Nikki, yes I do. I guess we’re hungrier with our eyes and memories than with our stomachs. Huh?
Karmyn, yeah, I signed up…but I’ve never done a swap before…which one are you doing?
Katie, I can’t wait to try these…but WHEN? Gotta carve out some time…maybe when school’s out :).
Oh clotted cream. I love clotted cream, and have never ever found it in Canada. Which is probably a good thing, my hips are already big enough. But I do love it.
Wow! You lucky bugger. Enjoy your spoils.
Wait a minute! Is that LEMON CURD I spy hiding behind the tea pot?!?!
Girl, I am on my way to Tennafreakinsee.
Lemon curd = Bliss
Emma, if you were closer, I’d share. I’ll have to let you know what I think seeing as I’ve never had it. But cream? What’s there not to love?? 🙂
WT, I did, I am, I will ;).
Erin, you spy right! I’m lookin’ out my window… :).
be right over for scones!
Hey, Heather…Erin’s coming, too :). A misfit tea party??? Sounds good to me!
