Okay–solution. The reason they did this is that now you can HAVE a blogger account and link to an outside blog instead of to a blogger blog. Sign up for blogger and in the profile link to your personal webpage instead of creating a blog. It sucks I know but it is SO much faster than typing in all your info EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Just what I needed, something to hack me off today. Now that I have two blogs on blogger… and I don’t have time to deal with the thought of switching… ACK. It strikes me as evil corporate greed. How ungenerous of them.
You’re not imagining it! I was going to post about it today. Heather’s solution would work but you still don’t go straight to your site. And why should you need to create a google account just to comment anyway?
I am one more piece of bullshit from Blogger away from no longer reading Blogger blogs.
Oh, and by the way Heather, you’ve always been able to do that (I’ve done it for over a year now), but you still end up linking to a profile not a blog. This change is simply to force people to create google accounts.
Yep, I just found that out when a non-Blogger reader of mine commented and said that “I don’t have my linking feature turned on” in my comments area. I was like, “Uh… pretty sure I did.”
Well, crap. What next? Well, for you, it’s a blog award! Yep! That’s one way to make it all go away. Wish it came with wine and cake, but it doesn’t. (It’s still pretty cute though…)
Come on over and get it!

There is a new blog. It’s a Typepad blog. No crapola from BloggerBooger here. Go check it out. http://nekkedlizardadventures.typepad.com
If this doesn’t work, there is a link on my latest post.
Agh! So much information in the past few days and so little brain space left (and my NLM can’t spare any.)
Seems to me, Blogger is not playing very well with others…
Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down. I clicked on your name (“Robin”) in my comments which took me to your Blogger profile page. Your old turquoise blogger page came up when I clicked on “My webpage.” I think Heather is right. Just change the link in your profile to your new page… and voila!
Who really cares what platform bloggers are using??? I don’t ever really notice… I guess I’d rather focus on the content. :~D They’re all FREE, so what’s the beef?
Yep, I use my dead blogger account when I am on a blogger site. I think it goes to the profile. Did I read you can link DIRECTLY to the new blog on wordpress? I’m confused as usual.
Okay – I have been linking in my comment and using the Nickname…it’s a pain in the butt, but I only type if out once then copy – so all I have to do is hit Paste. It works for me.
@KarmynR: That is one workaround. Here is another: Suburban Oblivion This is not my site, but I hate those word verification things on Blogger anyway. No linky love is just being mean of Google.
I thought I was the only one complaining about this. I use wordpress and love it. So now when I visit a blogger blog I have yet to leave a comment for this reason.
I too hate the word verification, sometimes it works and other times I have to try 2-3 times before it accepts it (and no I don’t have poor vision). This whole change by blogger is piss poor in my opinion. Who does it hurt the most? Their own subscribers! Maybe when enough jump ship over to wordpress they will re-think this asinine decision.
Me too wrote about this: Blogger sucks more than ever not allowing extern links
I’ve already had several Blogger bloggers mentioning that they’re loosing commentors this way. Some boycotts Blogger blogs now. Me – I won’t search for new Blogger blogs as long as they don’t fix this.
My next post will be about how to leave Blogger….
I’m right there with you. This is pure BS on Google’s part. I wrote a post as well and gave you a trackback. Definitely encourage people to contact Google about fixing this.
Interesting. I wasn’t really sure what you meant but I logged out and checked it out. So basically your only options are to sign as a nickname or anonymous, right? seems quite dictatorial…
ahh, now i get it….i’m always a day late and a dollar short….
and i took my WV off my blogger replies cos i was finding it to be a pitb when i commented on other ppl’s blogs…
Yes, I noticed this right away because I hate using my profile link – too indirect. I used to use the linked name option, and I despise that they have removed that option. I know how to turn my name into a link, but it’s tedious to have to do that just to comment! I hope they fix this problem!!!

I have no idea. I’ve always been too lazy to leave!! LOL
Yes – and IT SUCKS!!! I am glad I moved to Typepad – but the whole “nickname” thing pisses me off to no end.
Now, when I post a comment on a Blogger Blog, my old Glob shows up. Someone, please tell me how to post with my new Glob:

Yes, it sucks! I’ve skipped some commenting because I didn’t feel like going through the whole thing.

unfortunately so…but I just posted a redirection link on my old blogger blog LOL 🙂
I can’t believe Blogger did that.
We’re all doomed.

It is such a pain in the neck! I have a post on my blogger blog to redirect people to my wordpress blog.
Agh! So much information in the past few days and so little brain space left (and my NLM can’t spare any.)

e-Mom they’re not all free. And it’s a question of arrogance.

All I know is they’ve made it more difficult :/….and who has time for difficult??

I’m absolutely furious. I wrote about it here.
