Tiggerlane the Neophyte Blogger, as hostess of this week’s Fun Monday, asked participants, "Have you heard of The Bucket List? Well, that’s what I want from you! Make a list of things you want to do before you die. It must be at least
five items – and you can make it as long as you desire. Photos are
optional. And let’s hear about some of the wackiest, most bizarre
to-do’s on your Bucket."
Not having seen the movie yet, I understand the premise but lack imagination. If I gave this serious thought, surely a few wackies and bizarros would land on the list…instead, here are some thoughts bordering on the simple and ordinary:
- Swim with the dolphins. Seriously. (not to be confused with "swimming with the fishes", since dolphins aren’t fish and I don’t owe the mob any money).
- Meet Paula Deen and if I was REALLY lucky, cook beside her!
- Cheer our children through college and their careers…and love the people they choose for a mate.
- Hold all our grandchildren and live long enough to get to KNOW them :).
- Travel to all 50 U.S. States (even if I’ll have to be medicated to make it to Alaska and Hawaii).
- Organize all our pictures :/.
- "Do" something more with my writing (secret hopes, secret dreams).
- To grow in my faith so deeply, people really don’t see so much of "me" anymore…to know Christ so intimately, I "look" more like him in words, actions, thoughts (John 3:30).
Hmmm, it might be really FUN to come up with a working list of "Life To-Dos". If you aren’t participating with Fun Monday this week, what are a few of your thoughts?
Swim with the dolphins? That’s an easy one! Come on down to Florida. There seem to be tons of places that offer that!
I don’t think your comment about growing in your faith is hokey…I’m just not sure I understand what you mean.
Hope you get to accomplish all the things on your list…waaaay before you die, too!
I’m not in on the Fun Monday thing but I did post a Bucket List recently. It has a Paula Deen entry too. Hee Hee.
I have to remind myself that this is a family site, so I can’t really warn you about swimming with male dolphins. Just don’t let ’em sneak up on you.
yeah i’m not sure what you mean, do you want to lose yourself in your faith?
Great list Robin.
Your last item was the best. Good list.
I’d love just to eat what Paula Deen cooks!
You say nothing wacky is on your list then you start it with swimming with dolphins. You are a funny lady. If you figure out how to get all the photos organized let me know how you did it. 🙂
Hey I just “won” 600 grains of rice. 🙂 Some of those words are hard!
Awesome list! I am making Paula’s gooey butter cake for a birthday today!
I already see Christ when I read you.
We have similar lists.
I have to giggle about you only wanting to swim with the dolphins and NOT the fishes!
Tour Italy.
That’s what I really, really want.
Well, you can get to Alaska without a plane – it is called “Driving the Alaskan Highway”. (I did it with my grandparents at the age of 10. there is TONS of gorgeous scenery along the way)
And who knows – maybe you could hop aboard one of those huge Freighter Ships and get to Hawaii!
Great list! You’re not the first I’ve seen who has “organize pictures” on their list. I find that interesting for some reason. We all love to take photos, but can’t seem to keep them organized once we do, can we?
Great list, visiting all 50 states is a great one.
I hope you do do something more with your writing, I’m sure it would be a success.
good list, robin. some of yours parallel mine…
I think I like the idea of a Life To-Do list rather than a bucket list.
Visit all 50 states is a good one. We figured out if we visit 3 a year for the next 12 years then we will have visited all by the time James turns 21. Good goal..maybe. Crazy – yes.
Robin of mytwoblessings
I think we could get up a group to swim with the dolphins~ then we could watch each other’s backs!!
I’ve always wanted to meet Paula Deen, too – and Travel to all 50 U.S. States is on my list. Great List!
I hope you get to cook with Paula Deen too. Or maybe Phil will come back and he’ll cook with you. I don’t know, but I think I’m gettin a crush on Phil LOL Your list is great and definitely do-able. Although the last one I’m just not gettin, but hey, I don’t have to. Now. Back to Phil. Ok ok I’ll stop!
That’s a beautiful list, Robin!
Thats funny..I’d have to be medicated too!!!!
You may just have the best bucket item yet. Actually, you’ve got quite a few good ones, but the last is best.
I think your list is fantastic.
Great list! I have swim with the dolphins too. 🙂
great list Robin…I especially like the last item on your list…wouldn’t the world be a wonderful place if everyone felt that way??
MMMMM Paula Deen. I am getting hungry just thinking about her. I need biscuits!
Wonderful list!! I hope you get to achieve them all. Especially the holding your grandchildren part!!
Getting TO Hawaii is easier than flying back – the return trip is horribly long and uncomfortable. Great list, and thanks for participating!
Great list!
me too. all of them.
Robin
We didn’t exactly “swim” with the dolphins last week(or was it two weeks ago now) but we had a “Dolphin Encounter” in the Bahamas where we were in the water with the dolphins to hug, kiss, dance, feed and rub them. It was TOO FUN! Definitely a “must do”! We have some great pictures (and a really expensive dvd!) 🙂
Love your list!
your Athens friend…
Amen to that last item! Wonderful list!
We share quite a few of the same things, your 3 and 4 I didn’t write on my FM list but they are still something I want! I share 2 more that I did put on my FM.
Fantastic list!!
