Today’s giveaway is sponsored by Kelly at Pass the Torch, author of the soon-to-be-released "Empowering Youth–How to Encourage Young Leaders to Do Great Things".
Valued at $49.95, Career Expedition is characterized as an "educational interactive board game. PERFECT for a classroom setting, a wonderful resource for homeschooling families, this is a game geared toward middle and high school students.
Career Expedition is designed to get kids thinking and talking about their future. Seldom have I seen a FUN resource that accomplishes that! Usually, career discussion doesn’t come until college, and I like that through this game, parents, educators or youth workers have reason to begin the conversation early.
To win this SMART giveaway, simply follow any of the links to Kelly’s site, look around, and comment here something new you learned; it can be about her personal blog or anything related to Empowering Youth. If you’re inclined, tell her Robin at Pensieve sent you–I’d love for her to "see" her sponsorship at work!! 🙂 (Giveaway open to U.S. addresses only.)
Please be sure and check out all my giveaways for the week–HUNDREDS of dollars are up for grabs! Commenting is open through midnight on Sunday, giveaways to be announced by midnight on Monday!
🙂
Really, most kids don’t think about/discuss until college? I remember thinking about it in Middle School and my daughter’s been discussing options with us since she was in 4th grade!
Anyway, from Kelly’s site I learned about her homeschool experiment. Interesting reading!
My DD is 5 and we joke about what she’s going to be when she grows up. I looked through Kelly’s site. I don’t think I have the patience to homeschool though. Thanks for the chance to win. Visit mine at http://www.mypreppypurse.blogspot.com
I have learned I need to get that book! What a very inspirational lady! OMGees! That board game would be wonderful to have since I do home school. I found so many resources on her blog. I’ll have to go back and check it out. Thank you for introducing me to this blog!
Robin has a great site. Thanks for sending me over there. I will return. Loved the story about her daughter and the Kohl’s scholarship. I have two seniors this year and we need inspiraton to chase these scholarships. We’d also get a lot of use out of that game.

Hey Robin! I checked out Kelly’s site and found out that her daughter has won a Kohl’s award. I also learned that she has written a book that was recently published and has homeschooled her kids. I learned that Kelly is much more of a woman than I am. Thanks for the giveaways!
What a great idea! We would love to win this for our Homeschool Down Under! You are having lots of giveaways this week! I was just popping over to see what lovely picture you had in store for me this week!
Kellys site is pretty cool and has me thinking of possibly homeschooling myself. Thanks!
I learned I’m not the only homeschooling parent who struggles with getting her kids to write.
This looks like a cool game!
I likedd the quote: Empowerment is having confidence because someone has spoken it into you.
As a middle/high school teache, I would love this game.
I would love, love to win. Having two teenage daughters and a middle school son, this would be a great tool. I have never been to Kelly’s sight before, she has a lots of good stuff to look through.
I thought it was wonderful that her daughter won the Kohl’s Kids Who Care Scholarship. What an achievement she can be proud of. Thanks for the contest!
I learned that her products integrate the 40 Developmental Assets to teach youth and adults about how to build on strengths.
Wow what a great idea for a game! I could have Rreally used it when I was gorwing up. The closest thing we ever has was Life. I would LOVE to have this for my boys! Great find! Thanks!
I really liked her post about how she had her neighbor help her when her child got into trouble at their house! I tucked that away in the back of my head and will have to remember that! I have 4 boys…I might need that someday.
Kelly’s site shows she definitely was cut out for homeschooling! What a great game, I’d love this for my classroom.
kelly you have a beautiful site. my daughter would not do well in homeschool enviorment. she does better learning from other people. i teach her the small things when she was little, but i could not handle the hard stuff.
I like the neighbor helping neighbor story. IT really does take a village 🙂 Great looking game.
I thought it was very interesting reading about transitioning her family after homeschooling. I loved the phrase “out of sync”….it just described how we get sometimes So Well. As in, this is not how it’s supposed to be…we’re all trying and doing, but not in the proper syncopation. We all have to get into the same groove and do this together even when we’re doing our separate thing.
p.s. we’re a game family. It’s how we find our groove.
I learned that her daughter won the Kohl’s scholarship – how awesome is that?! I imagine that young lady will go far . .
This is absolutely awesome! I know some “grown-ups” who should play this game.. LOL
Checked out the site and I love the idea of the Treasure of Assets game!
I was homeschooled too and it seems they make it tougher on the kids to get into some colleges these day as well!

Loved learning about the entire new resource of at Kelly and company’s . Good stuff. Thanks for passing along. And I think The Tigers would love the game. 😉
She’s an author and former homeschooler. It looks like she enjoys photography, too.
I loved her picture of the boy jumping in the lake. Reminds me of my son doing this when he was young. This game would be great for my sister who is a school teacher at a small christian school…
I had just visited Kelly’s site earlier this week, so very interesting to be sent there again. Coincidence?
Since I have kids ages 3-19 (one of them has autism) that have been homeschooled, it was wonderful to read another mother’s perspective on all the transitions we go through. Kelly has a lot of really great products!
Thank you for this opportunity!
Stop posting so much at jamies website he will stop doing it if you don’t stop.
The sample handouts show a bit about what the book has in it – I really want the book! Her blog is also good. I am a high school English and Journalism teacher, so I really need this!
this game is so neat looking! my husband is a teacher and siad this looks like something he coudl use in class.
I learned that Kelly’s family is seriously into dock jumping. Wow…
Looks like a great game. I’m the mom of 4 teens–I think we could put this to good use.
I learned that she is so dedicated to her kids and their education. I can only aspire to be as dedicated! I homeschool as well and could definitely see the benefit of having this as a teaching tool. Thanks!
This would be really helpful for my homeschooling!
thank you.
I like the dock jumping pic and saw that her daughter won Kohl’s Kids Scholarship..neat

I think this is a great idea. I never knew “what I wanted to be” and I still don’t know! It seems like some kids KNOW and some kids are waiting to figure it out!

I didn’t know that Robin has a book out called
“Empowering Youth!” Her game sounds educational, inspiring and fun. My husband and
I would enjoy this game with our two teenage sons. It reminds me of the test they take to see their strengths and weaknesses in different fields. Please enter me in your fabulous contest drawing. Many thanks, Cindi
What a resource! I’m recommending her site to my friend who works with youth services. While browsing around, I found a resource that I blogged about several months ago – the Search Institute. I’m bookmarking Ms. Kelly, indeed. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, it takes so much work to homeschool. Way to go, Kelly! I would love to enter.
Her book sounds great. Look how well she has done with her daughter.
Thanks!
The main impression I was left with from visiting her site is that she’s a woman on a mission. She’s not just talk. She is living it and I completely respect that. Many authors profess to have the knowledge and so write a book on a subject but Kelly has clearly dedicated herself to her causes and that hit home with me.
Empowering Youth is a company committed to providing quality, effective, hands-on products for educators and others who work with youth.
This sounds like a great game. I went to Kelly’s site and learned all about the The Kohl’s Kids Who Care® Scholarship Program. I had no idea there was anything like this out there.
I think her homeschool experiment is cool.
Cool that she’s a homeschooling mama like me! Thanks!
This would be absolutely wonderful to use at board game afternoons at my library!
I like that she looks to others, like her neighbor, for help. Thanks for the giveaway!
This is a great giveaway! And I love what Kelly is doing. One of the main reasons we are in Africa is to model service for our baby and provide her with opportunities to serve as well.
I love board games. Thank you! 🙂
This game is really cool, I’ve looked at it several times actually for my daughter.
Something new is when I looked at her banner, whoever that is looks just like my youngest daughter from behind. How strange 🙂
