Breaking up the monotony of a flawless blue sky, a steady procession of puffy whites meander eastward, as if they had somewhere to go; it’s a silly habit, but discovering creatures in the clouds brings me childish delight. There is a welcome rhythm and rest to life at the farm–what could be more relaxing than sway in a hammock from a silent breeze, lying in the shadow of an oak standing guard, listening to the drone of a bee and the strum of a hummingbird’s wings, and a few minutes away from the noise of life.
If it weren’t for the blasted camera in my hand and my incessant need to take pictures of my feet, it would’ve been perfect opportunity for a NAP! 🙂
*sigh* I wish I had a hammock.
was going to say that cloud looked like some little piggies… and then you clarified your fetish. bwaa haa
Ahem! Is that a REAL hammock I espy? ? Coz you do know that unless it hails from Mexico its not quite the same! We have been the proud owners a few in our days but you know the real Mexican ones really were the ONLY real experience! You just kinda melt into them!
What a cool shot! From a recent vacation? Or is that home? Either way, it’s a great looking shot.
Hmmm … this photo would make a perfect one for this week’s Photo Hunt since the theme is ‘clouds’ … but I love the title and perspective as is ;–)
Hugs and blessings,
What a great shot. I would have done the same thing. I hate it when I miss the chance to nap!
LOL! I have to say that last part cracked me up, about the “blasted camera” and stuff… I was thinking… if she’s laying there so peaceful she’s still not relaxing if she’s holding onto that camera!!! LOL! Cracked me UP!!! lol
I hope you put it down soon after and closed your eyes for a leeeedle nap….
How funny you should post this photo – it’s perfect for The Photo Hunters theme this week.

I adore hammocks and laying in the shade! We haven’t done any outside work to our house yet (landscaping and outdoor furniture) but definitely on my list, along with a wooden PORCHSWING that hangs from chains.
I wish I were there 🙁 Wonderful picture! You are inspiring me to pick up a camera and take more pictures. Miss talking to ya!
Man oh man does that look comfy and cozy!!
And how pretty do those toes look!!!
Glad you were able to enjoy!
What a perfect summer photo!
I love to find creatures in the clouds too. I thought I was crazy. It’s good to know I’m not alone. BTW, I love your feet pictures. At least you have photogenic feet with a good pedicure!
Love this photo. Then again I haven’t seen a photo of yours that I don’t like. 🙂
I thought I was the only grown-up left out there that still looked for “things” in the clouds. It’s still something that I can get my son to do even if he tells me that he’s “getting to old for it”.
I grew up in the country, and that’s where my heart stays. The view is great.
So glad y’all checked in and shared your thoughts; I was on the road, so I couldn’t comment back to ya…and now, since it’s so “after the fact”, I figured I’d just say a BIG THANK!!!
🙂
