Just when the vertical, six-inch (palm to mid-forearm) bunny scratch was almost healed, my iron attacked me. Viciously and without warning. Doesn’t the wound look angry, like a grimacing pair of lips?
Apparently, domestic chores are hazardous to my health…;)
Owie!!! That one hurt me just looking at the picture. Ok, Aloe comes to mind right away, as does chamomile essential oil or lavendar essential oil. Hope it heals quickly!!
Ow. I’ll second the aloe. Maybe some chocolate taken internally would help, too.
Don’t you just hate when that happens!
Do they have government warnings on those things yet???
🙂
Oh. My. Ouch.
Heather, I have some kind of “special” burn ointment; I bet it has some of the things you mentioned in it (I’ll have to remember to read the ingredients label).
OOooo, Julie, me likey the “internal” method!!
Inheritor, It wouldn’t surprise me if someone somewhere hasn’t already litigated this. Sad….
Annie, lol…I think I said that…and more! 😉
Oh man – looks like something I would pull. You clearly need to stay away from these treacherous domestic activities.
Angry lips?!? Absolutely!! Angry that they were burned into your arm. 😀
Ouch! It does look like angry lips…how crazy. Hope it heals quickly for you!
I feel the pain…hope it gets better soon!
I have a very similar looking scar on my forearm! Mine wasn’t from an iron, though… it was from when I was baking cookies and I touched my arm to the upper rack when I reached in to pull the baking sheet out of the oven.
Happy WW!

Ouch! 🙁 Try the aloe..Take Care!~
Kind of looks like a pair of lips.
is that a steam hickey?
Ow ow ow! Burns always hurt way more than they look like they should! Hope it is feeling better, and no more ironing! Just let them be wrinkled.
Clearly you need to take an important lesson from this. Ironing and you are just not compatible.
Now how can I get that message across in my house without actually burning myself . . .
Happy WW! I knew there was a reason don’t iron.
Ouch was the right word for this one!
OUCH!!! They need to put a label on that. Warning: Iron may jump out and attack you at any given moment. Use with caution!
OUCH! Irons, ovens, curling irons…all dangerous, very dangerous. You’d think we’d learn!
Yipes! That smarts. Done that many times. Remember the 80’s big do’s with the curling iron? Ever go to school with a branded forehead? Yep, not pretty.
Ouch!
Ouuuuuuch!! This picture nearly sent me running for my aloe plant. Yikes. Put that iron away and leave it there!
OW! I have pain just looking at that. It does look like angry lips. At least you got an interesting looking injury? Trying to find something good out of negative….
Take a day off – you deserve it.
as my little girl would say ‘ouchie’
happy wednesday. hope you can visit my WW!

Happy WW!
Ouch – that looks like it hurts. Hope it feels better soon!
OUCH!!! I bet you could hear it sizzle!:( Feel free to stop by my WW if you have any interest in a big, dead jellyfish.
Ouch– hope it heals quickly.
Happy WW!
that really sucks. that’s why i have long ago decided ironing and i don’t mix. I don’t even own one of those scary things anymore:)
Ouch! To me that is even more reason to stand by the dryer to catch things before they need to be ironed. I hope you feel better quickly.
Ouch! Hope you heal soon!
Poor you! Hope it heals fast!
OW. That looks like it really hurts.
Exactly why you need to stay far, far away from that iron!
See…this is why I don’t iron. This is the second injury of this nature I have seen this week!!
Isn’t that the worst?! I swear, I have horrible scars all over my arms and legs from child and housework-induced injuries. I’m nursing a broken toe right now that was sustained during a cleaning frenzy.
Oh my! I have always said cleaning is DANGEROUS.
Please, buy a bottle of Downy Wrinkle Release and throw away that pain machine.
Ouch! It does look like a little angry mouth, though. Hope it feels better soon!
Owww! Well, that settles it…no more housework for you!! lol
Yikes! That does look like an angry burn!
I agree with everyone that aloe is the way to go. I keep some of that “after sunburn” aloe stuff in my fridge year round…you never know when you need a nice cool salve…
EEEEKKKKK! Looks painful. A magical WW to you.
Sorry to hear about your bruises. Ugh!
OUCH. I can’t keep up with you –
If I was you, I would never iron again!! lol
That looks SO painful.
Yeowch! Oh, my, that DOES look painful. Aloe will help although I’m sure some of your other readers (who post in a more timely fashion) have already said that! That and perhaps you should make ironing a chore for other people in your house 🙂
An iron??? What is this thing you speak of?? LOL! Ouch girlie!
My boyfriend does all the ironing at our house (he’s the only one who needs anything ironed) and when he burns himself (I think 3 times now) he has always referred to them as knife wounds so he still sounds manly. That way he doesnt have to say, yeah I burned myself ironing! lol
