Every digital picture is recorded alongside a small amount of data known as EXIF – Exchangeable Image File – that contains information such as shutter speed, aperture, focal length and other critical information. It usually shows up when you load it into a photo app or view the file’s properties. The info also gets automatically tagged to Flickr and other popular photo sites.
