I love the internet and I love my front yard.
Without the internet, it's doubtful I would have learned that September 1st kicks off National Mushroom Month.
Which makes my surprise front yard discovery yesterday afternoon all the more delicious—
From a distance my brain foggily thought, "Who half-burned a whole bag of marshmallows and threw 'em in our yard?"
But then I tiptoed closer and discovered…
THE SMURFS LIVE IN OUR FRONT YARD!!!
Who knew it wasn't so much a village as it was a condominium complex?
This spongy sculpture intrigued me for hours quite a while….
Is it peculiar I was hesitant to touch it? I thought if I did, I'd get warts, even though I KNEW I was confusing my old wives tales–it's TOADS that'll give you warts, toadstools just give you…hallucinations???
Tis true, National Mushroom Month is an , although I have yet to determine what that means in practice outside of the fact I'm suddenly craving Mellow Mushroom for dinner (hmmm…a conspiracy???).
Hey–I've got a great idea to commemorate this auspicious occasion and discovery: will you share your favorite recipe featuring mushrooms? Link a post or copy and paste it in comments. My husband, the Biggest Baby Bella Fan on the planet, will thank you! To get us started, I've linked one of our family's favorites.
How intriguing!! =)
You know, I don’t like mushrooms, but this is pretty… nice find!
