It’s a happy day, and I’m livin’ it for my Lord.
It’s a happy day, and things are gonna get better,
Livin’ each day by the promises of God’s Word.
Trite, perhaps, but in my mind’s ear I hear my children singing it, about age 5…and it’s the most beautiful thing I can imagine in the still of this moment. And I miss their pre-school selves…and I can’t believe there’s no one I have to help get ready for church…and yet I’m thankful for the very same things.
It IS a happy day :).
i feel the same way about my kids. i miss that stage, but at the same time am thankful for the stage they are in right now. It’s the future that i am so uncertain about!
I musta heard them too, I was having a doozy of a day and then started to laugh! It all turned out okay in the end!
Aw, that was a fun trip down memory lane. I loved singing songs like that in the car when my kids were little. We don’t sing anymore–well, not too much anyway. I’m kind of with iPost–it’s the future that’s pretty scary.
Love that song. It is a classic. Thanks for the memories.
