I’d swear they’re from another planet
Grimaced smirk–
They look berserk!

Skimming through my reader, I saw Laura’s photo prompt for this week’s 15 Words or Less; the above 15 words spilled out of my head in response. Never tried 15 Words? You really should…it’ll unleash your inner poet–the one you didn’t know you had!
It does look like it is from another planet but it is yummy!

I’m so excited that it’s pomegranate season! I’ve already made Pomegranate Salsa once since I spotted them at the grocery store and I’m sure I’ll be making it again.
Gorgeous waxy red skin,
fleshy white pulp,
Too pretty to devour
all in one gulp!
Ha. 15 wds.
I spent 45 minutes savoring half of one of these beauties! I have to separate each individual jewelicous segment to savor, spit!
They do look “odd”, but they sure know how to rock a martini. 😀
“Grimaced smirk” – I like that. But now I’m sitting here trying to form one with my mouth… Still haven’t worked it out.
I’ll have to try the 15 words challenge sometime.
Thanks!
I went to the original site to post this, but I couldn’t get it to post who I am (I had to be anonymous), so I thought I’d put it here too. Like I said there, I am new to this – never done it before, but I thought I’d give it a try. Here you go…
The Sacrifice
Once whole, beautiful
Now sliced-open
Insides exposed
Sharing its goodness
Its sweetness
The beneficial sacrifice
We once had a pomegranate tree in our yard… my sister and I would sit up there, peeling and eating for hours. Yum!
such a nuisance to eat
although incomparably sweet
Juice ’em!
