Read this. Stick with it til the end.

Makes me wanna shout this !
* * * * * * * * * * * * *Reading “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” has become an annual tradition for me on MLK, Jr. Day. I don’t remember reading this in school, but it’s powerful. Martin Luther King is often remembered only for his “
I have a dream” speech…but this letter, imho, is even more inspiring and compelling…and convicting. Oh, how far we’ve come…oh, how much farther there is to go….
(* originally posted on my former blog.)
haven’t checked out your links yet- but I created a reading project on the Civil Rights movement and read lots of books and poems and man- what powerful writing!!!!
p.s. just found your blog and I love it!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I will be sending this link to many people today.
AMEN!!!
Wow! Thank you for sharing that.
I home school, and though my children are still too young to grasp most of this particular letter, it blessed me. And we always do something every year to honor MLK…read a children’s book and my oldest does some reading comprehension worksheets.
He is so worth remembering!
P.S…come enter my little giveaway!
Thanks for the link. I took a long time reading and digesting it last night. So inspiring.
I started the letter, but it is long and will have to wait for lunchtime. But it is relevant, as any action to preserve individual freedoms over the tyranny of government is relevant. As relevant as the need for each and every individual to stand shoulder to shoulder with their fellow citizens to provide a united front for all that is just and right in this, the greatest country in the world. When vigilance is lost, evil forces work the hardest; and when even one person loses freedom, we all lose freedom.
