driftwood on beach at Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, June 2009. 
Weathered and tumbled and aged like fine wine, driftwood always intrigues me.  It's a mystery with stories to tell, and I want to know them all. 
Beautiful in my eyes, this piece begged to be photographed from
multiple angles.  This is my favorite.

    My mom used to collect driftwood. I was always fascinated by the shapes and twists and turns of each piece she found.
