Blogging has introduced me to dozens of brilliant artists, those who
breathe life and beauty into words…
bend metal, paper and wood into precious treasure…
compose and capture memories and moments….
and many, many more.
I'd wager none of them is compensated commensurate with their talent.
After spending a few hours at Chatty Crafty's Holiday Show talking to crafters and oogling (and in some instances buying) their handmades this weekend, I really want to make more of an effort to support them. It's so easy to fall into the allure, convenience and cost savings of big box stores, but I really want to support the gal or guy who's livin' their dream and pouring everything they have into their passion.
And my creative wannabe-ness is off the chart. Newest item on my Bucket List? To own and operate an Etsy shop. Once I figure out what I'm gonna make and sell, I'll be sure to let you know.
Your turn: Do you have a creative itch? What would your Etsy shop look like?Or…share your favorite Etsy shop! It's Christmas time and I *might* need just what they're selling!

“And my creative wannabe-ness is off the chart. Newest item on my Bucket List? To own and operate an Etsy shop.” — That’s me!
I’m taking the plunge after the new year! I’ve had an Etsy shop site for a while but haven’t done anything with it yet. I grabbed the name when I first got the crazy idea – then had to decide if I really wanted to go through with it.
I’ll be selling things like small zippered bags, crayon rolls, fabric bookmarks, possibly keychain fobs. My shop name is One Stitch, Much Love. Like I said, I”m not opening until sometime in January, but I’m looking forward to it!
Robin… sweet Robin… I saw the ‘feed a starving artist’ picture on facebook and had to shoot over here to take a closer look! Oh my goodness… love that image! lol So true! I am honored to be among the wonderful artists you have listed. Thank you. Thank you so much! ♥
I went to Chatty Crafty thanks to your earlier post….lots of gorgeous stuff! I was particularly enamored with a beautiful headband that I’m sure took the creator well over an hour to make, but in the end, I just couldn’t afford the $28 price tag. I felt so bad about it, because I am certain that the quality is much better than what I might find for half the price in a big box store.
Supporting artists and their passions is definitely a great goal, but one that takes some time and even some strategy to be able to pull off, especially if your own expendable funds are tight. I’m working on it, though!
love it… so true!!
