So we won’t be running in the 5K, but we’ll be walking in the 1-Mile Fun Run Walk with a few thousand others for a good cause…a VERY good cause. Since breast cancer took my mother and grandmother, and my sister is an 8-year survivor (is that right, Sissy?) I can’t believe 1) this is my first year walking, and 2) I wasn’t the first one in line to PRE-register :/!
Thanks to my husband for gently suggesting this might be a good thing for Rachel and me to do together.
I can’t think of a better way to celebrate LIFE and praise God for my health and the health of my family.
Lemme know your stories or see your pictures if you have some to share :).
How come you run kilometres yet walk miles? Are klms faster than mls or something?
We had our race for the cure two weekends ago. My daughter’s JV cheer squad led the beginnings of the races and the walk with “I am the cure.” My goal is to run (not walk-yikes) next year.
I have run the Race for the Cure two years now, and it’s the most amazing experience! I think I have a picture on my ‘What I did This Summer post.’
My favorite part is when the survivors run past me and kick my butt!
well, better late than never! 😀 Don’t beat yourself up. Sometimes remembering our loved ones- even with something as wonderful as a Walk- can be hard.
I love the idea that you and your daughter are doing this together.
