I could show you a picture of my father-in-law, but I think this tells you more about him than his Wrangler jeans and cowboy boots…. It’s a beautiful portrait of a man who seeks first the kingdom of God.

Well-read Bible

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children… Proverbs 13:22

Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You. ~ Psalm 119:11

You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. ~ Deuteronomy 11:18-19

How can a young man keep his way pure?
By keeping it according to Your word. ~ Psalm 119:9

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  ~ John 1:1

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.  ~ John 6:63

“To whom will he teach knowledge, and to whom will he explain the message?  Those who are weaned from the milk, those taken from the breast? For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.” ~ Isaiah 28:9-10
